The wood wool is specifically produced for us, and is thicker than the normal basket hamper grade that is readily available. The reason for this is to prevent the wood wool from sinking down into the media due to the weight of maggots crawling on it; making it a far better quality choice for fruit fly cultures. At 2mm wide it is the ideal solution for increasing the surface area in fruit fly, bean weevil and even wax moth culture. Sold in quantities that match our range of plastic cups / containers.
